Tusken Raiders, also known as Sand People, are savage nomads of the Jundland Wastes, an area of rocky desert mesas near the township of Anchorhead on Tatooine. Dressed in rags and disguised behind face masks, these fearsome fighters and their domesticated Bantha pack animals are well adapted to desert life. Tusken Raiders prey on Tatooine colonists who dare to venture into the Jundland Wastes, they are even stealthy enough to surprise the occasional Jawa scout or hunting party, but it would take a sizeable Tusken Raider war party to actually attack Anchorhead township and other colonist settlements. The Sand People are armed with rifles and the deadly gaderffii or gaffi stick, a double-edged, bladed club made from scrap metal.

Good value for money, these Galoob figures are sold painted and ready to play. Discerning miniature painters may want to give these miniatures a wash to shade the folds in the clothing.
The figures are made of a soft vinyl plastic which holds the paint very well.
With nine figures per box, Crossfire players will be one figure short of a complete infantry platoon. MicroMachines’ Star Wars Collection 2 included a Tusken Raider personality which could be the perfect platoon commander, but this figure set may be hard to find.
MicroMachines’ Star Wars Tusken Raiders are perfectly suitable for colonial or modern skirmish games. The figures mix well with wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles from the extensive ROCO Minitanks series. Armoured personnels carriers like the M-113 or M-114 scout vehicle, Schützenpanzer kurz, German Wiesel airborne light tank, or Renault Saviem VAB 4 × 4 are particularly suitable.
