Sack Coat

Sack Coat.

Sack coat (Engl., German Sakko), the loose fitting jacket worn by workers and soldiers from the mid-19th century Victorian era onwards. The sack coat was cheaper, more comfortable, and easier to keep clean than a dress uniform. The picture shows Perry Miniatures’ 28 mm American Civil War Infantry in sack coats, painted as Confederate soldiers.
