Revell 361.78 »Tank Grey RAL 7024«, actually RAL 7024 »Graphite Grey«, compared to Revell 361.09 »Anthracite Grey RAL 7021« and our desaturated mixture of Revell 361.09 »Anthracite Grey RAL 7021« tinted with 23 % Revell 361.05 »Creme White« to account for aerial perspective.
Both, Revell 361.78 »Tank Grey RAL 7024« and our desaturated Revell 361.09 »Anthracite Grey RAL 7021«, are mixed pigment colours which experienced a hue shift towards the blue part of the visible spectrum when they were tinted with white.
Modellers have a choice: we can manually adjust our »Dark Gray No. 46« for aerial perspective from one model to the next, or, for the sake of convenience, simply use RAL 7024 »Graphite Grey« as the tinted equivalent of »Dark Gray No. 46« every time. The charm of the first option is that manually tinted »Dark Gray No. 46« will never turn out exactly the same.
