Wuerttemberg Füsilier Regiment von Truchsess, 1756–1763

Wuerttemberg Füsilier Regiment von Truchsess of the Seven Years’ War, 1756–1763.

Füsilier-Regiment von Truchsess was raised on 15 December 1752 from elements of the Garde zu Fuß. Only one battalion strong initially, the regiment was increased to two battalions of six companies each in 1757, to participate in the Silesian campaign with the other Wuerttemberg regiments.

At the Battle of Leuthen, 5 December 1757, Füsilier-Regiment von Truchsess stood on the right flank of the Wuerttemberg Infanterie-Brigade von Roeder.

The regiment was disbanded in the course of Wuerttemberg troops reductions in 1765. The men were transferred to other regiments, most of the officers were dismissed or retired.
